Excited to share that the International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS) just published a scholar spotlight about my Ph.D. work at the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience! 🤖🧠

What did I actually do in my PhD?

During my Ph.D., I used machine learning tools to investigate neural mechanisms in the brain, employing diverse statistical methods to explore how single neurons and neural populations process sensory information depending on cell type and brain state.

A key achievement was developing a data-efficient vision model that integrates not only visual information and brain state but also cortical neural feedback. This work bridges computational modeling with biological mechanisms to better understand how the brain processes sensory information.

The spotlight also features one of my favorite moments: presenting my research during sunset 🌅 at the AREADNE conference on encoding and decoding of neural ensembles on a beautiful Greek island 🇬🇷
